THE OFF & THE RODA DE CHORO

The IGs are delighted to include the organization of the Roda de Choro of Montpellier in the program of this first edition of the OFF.

Initiated three years ago by the association Cafofo and the Consulate of Brazil, in the heart of the Beaux-Arts district, the roda de choro is a true invitation to come together.

Musicians gather in a circle, listen to each other, and weave, through melodies, a dialogue where everyone finds their place. Born in the streets of Rio de Janeiro at the end of the 19th century, choro is a music of virtuosity as well as generosity, where technique always takes a back seat to the joy of sharing.

Experienced instrumentalists or beginners, everyone is invited to come with their instrument to contribute to this collective adventure. And if you prefer simply to listen, let yourself be carried away by the rhythms, the playful exchanges between musicians, and the warm atmosphere that makes the charm of the roda.

Whether you are a lover of Brazilian music, a musician, a dancer, a neighbor from the area, or just curious, come share this suspended moment where music brings people together, creates encounters, and takes you on a journey.
