For this concert, the Orchestre national Montpellier Occitanie reunites with its musical director Roderick Cox, whose baton is precise and generous.

Alongside him is South Korean pianist Sunwook Kim, a revelation at the Leeds Competition at 18, now a major soloist, whose touch combines power and transparency. They tackle the same composer, Johannes Brahms, under two opposing faces. First, the Piano Concerto No. 1, a youthful work (1858): stormy, symphonic, almost a dramatic poem where the piano struggles with the orchestra. A score born from despair, dedicated to friend Robert Schumann. Then the Symphony No. 2, written twenty years later, in full maturity. Here, everything is light, pastoral ambiance, melancholic smile. The drama calms down, making way for grace. From storm to serenity: one genius, two faces.
