Maria takes a gun from the family kitchen and walks towards the house of the man who assaulted her. Behind her, an entire village stirs. The Sister of Jesus Christ portrays this journey as a long theatrical sequence, where each character delivers their version of the story. Oscar de Summa crafts a tense and poetic text, where the tension rises inexorably. The stage setup, tight and inescapable, complements this raw speech, supported by live musical accompaniment. As for the narrative itself, it is carried by the striking performance of actor Félix Vannoorenberghe, who manages to transform the intimate drama into a collective awakening.
