Rich in deep sounds, the cello produces frequencies particularly close to those of the human voice, which partly explains the emotional richness often associated with it.
Honored by the greatest composers of the Romantic period, the cello definitively emancipates itself from the traditional role of accompaniment and becomes a solo instrument. This advancement reveals to other composers the possibilities of the cello, whose lyricism fits so well with the aesthetics of the time.
Alejandro MUÑOZ, Conductor
Recognized as one of the most versatile and complete Spanish conductors of his generation, Alejandro Muñoz is the principal conductor of the Camerata Gala and the Opera Choir of Cordoba (Spain), artistic director of the Gala Fest, and musical director of the Lyric Company 1811. His career combines an intense activity in the symphonic, operatic, and educational fields, as well as conducting creations and recording projects.
His repertoire, vast and diverse, ranges from Baroque to contemporary music, with particular attention to opera, zarzuela, and current creations.
François RAGOT, Cello
Trained at the CNR of Perpignan, the CNR of Rueil-Malmaison, and finally at the Royal College of Music in London, François Ragot was the solo cellist of the Orchestre de l'Empordà from 1994 until 2001. He was a cello professor at the Conservatory of Girona for 16 years, and he currently teaches at the Municipal School of Music of St Cyprien and at the Intercommunal School of Haut et Bas Vallespir "Max Havart". Artistic director and conductor of the Symphonic Orchestra - Canet-en-Roussillon Méditerranée since 2012, he maintains a cross-border relationship by inviting musicians from both sides of the Pyrenees. His commitment to sharing his love for Music and promoting Catalan musical heritage around the world has recently earned him the nomination as "Knight in the Order of Academic Palms."
