"Who does not forget the old sacred value of writing: to save lives from nothingness because they have been told." Thus, The Song of the Seven Towers is an offering to the forgotten, the engulfed, those who are nothing, anonymous victims of human cruelty.
Filled with strength and anger, this poem evokes a past that seems distant, that of the slave trade. This industrial-scale trafficking of human beings plays a foundational role in current forms of oppression and inhumanity, and while slavery has been officially abolished worldwide, modern slavery persists despite the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Song of the Seven Towers brings us back to the roots of evil.

This performance is a true immersive experience in which the actor addresses a "you" who, from being a spectator, soon finds themselves at the center of the story. It is this experience that Opéra Théâtre Volubilis sought to bring to voice and music.
