UNFOLDING THE NIGHT
About
At dusk, Unfolding the Night offers a musical journey where centuries respond to each other with astonishing freedom. Under the direction of soprano Juliette de Massy, four musicians engage in dialogue between the works of Monteverdi, Marin Marais, Tarquinio Merula, and Sébastien Le Camus with those of John Cage, Steve Reich, and Pierre-Yves Macé. Blending baroque music and contemporary creation, the unique arrangements reveal new resonances and sketch a sensitive soundscape inspired by the mysteries of the night. Driven by Alla Notte by Pierre-Yves Macé, this concert invites a contemplative listening experience where poetry, silence, and light intertwine. As a prelude to the performance, a sung stroll through the spaces of the Archipel extends this experience by revealing the venue in a different light.
