The Miserable shines a light on the shadow of Victor Hugo, Juliette Drouet, the woman who inspired the character of Cosette.
It is the docility of an indocile woman who took on the task of accompanying the greatest poet of all time to see his work through, at the cost of 50 years of love and a mutual hold.

Juliette Drouet is his heroine, his muse, his passion, his copyist, his inspirer, but also his prisoner. Hugo confines her to a small room for 14 years to have her all to himself.
She will write him thousands of letters during her captivity, while remaining his eternal support, devoted body and soul.
