EXHIBITION "MEDITERRANEAN BANQUETS BETWEEN GREEKS, ETRUSCANS, AND GAULS"

The new exhibition "Mediterranean Banquets Between Greeks, Etruscans, and Gauls" will be presented from June 5, 2026, to February 1, 2027, at the Lattara archaeological site - Henri Prades museum in Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole.

The exhibition is based on the work carried out as part of the GEPRICO research project: Gaulish, Etruscan, and Phocaean commensality rites (funded by the National Research Agency). This project focuses on commensality rites for a period extending from the beginning of the 6th to the end of the 4th century BC, with a cross-cultural comparative approach concerning both the material evidence uncovered by archaeology (organic remains of plant and animal meals, ceramic artifacts) and the immaterial evidence (new data provided by the results of biochemical analyses and palynological studies of contents). The realm of the immaterial in archaeology encompasses the scents and flavors, the materials and biological products used during the commensality ritual, which are archaeologically invisible to the naked eye.

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 10 AM to 12 PM and from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM
Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays, from 2 PM to 6 PM (from November 1 to March 31) and from 2 PM to 7 PM (from April 1 to October 31).
Weekly closure on Tuesday.
Exceptional closures: May 1, July 14, and August 15.
