Screening of the film (15 minutes) "From Racou to Cap Leucate, a Coast in Motion" followed by a discussion with Provence Lanzellotti (45 minutes), geographer, facilitator of the Catalan Sandy Coast Observatory, and coastal studies officer at Aurca.
The Catalan Sandy Coast Observatory aims to better understand the evolution of our sandy coastline and thus better assess the risks of erosion and marine submersion. Established in 2013, it serves as a tool for knowledge and decision-making regarding the Catalan sandy coast, at the relevant scale of the hydro-sedimentary unit between Racou (Argelès-sur-Mer) and Cap Leucate. The film "From Racou to Cap Leucate, a Coast in Motion" explains how the sandy coastline functions. You will see images of the Catalan sandy coastline as well as animations to illustrate the specific physical phenomena of the sandy coastal system. The script has been designed to cover all the themes identified as central by the stakeholders of ObsCat. It is also punctuated with short interviews to convey clear messages. This film aims to shed light on the current state of affairs while presenting the topic in an aesthetic that moves away from the institutional or sometimes alarmist tone typically associated with these subjects.
