HERITAGE DAYS - GUIDED TOURS OF THE ABBEY
About
Step into the fascinating world of the Benedictine abbey alongside Philippe, a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. This exceptional tour opens the doors to two treasures classified as Historical Monuments: the 13th-century cloister, where sculptures confront ancient Romanesque traditions with new Gothic forms, revealing an original and complex example of late Romanesque art.
The abbey church, on the other hand, is mentioned as early as the 9th century. In addition to its exceptional 11th-century sculpted lintel, it showcases masonry from the 10th century as well as richly adorned Baroque furnishings. A rare and precious immersion into the religious and artistic history of the region, through centuries of architecture and creation.
Self-guided visits are possible from 10 AM to 6 PM. Free entry.
Presence of several associations: Art et Fils bobbin lace, Calligraphy, and Stone carving and sculpture.
