SUMMER EXHIBITION: GUMERSIND GOMILA BETWEEN MENORCA AND ROUSSILLON
About
The exhibition "Gumersind Gomila between Menorca and Roussillon" will be held at the Galerie des Hospices in Canet-en-Roussillon from June 18 to September 6, 2026.
It pays tribute to this versatile artist (1905–1970), who was a painter, poet, and ceramist, and who left a mark on Catalan culture by splitting his life between his native island of Menorca and Perpignan.
Former head of the workshop at Sant Vicens, Gomila is renowned for his ceramics co-signed with Jean Lurçat and his poetry collections inspired by the sea and birds.
This exhibition will blend history and creations from contemporary artists, along with lectures and poetry readings. This exhibition is part of a collaboration with the city of Mahon (Menorca).
