A rendezvous with art in Calvi with Laurence Jenkell

Between the Genoese citadel and the turquoise waters of the Balagne region, the BEL'ARTI Gallery houses a permanent collection that puts Calvi on the map of contemporary art. Eleven Bonbon sculptures by Laurence Jenkell, an internationally renowned French artist, find a natural setting here where the Mediterranean light reveals all their magic.

The collection unveils a dazzling chromatic palette: passionate red, collector's blue reminiscent of the sea, radiant iridescent with changing reflections, multicolored painted transparent, luminous pearly white, and even a spectacular monumental 81cm rose gold that reigns majestically on its black plexiglass base.

Among the treasures on display, don't miss the "LUCIO FONTANA" Wrapping Bonbon in white marble (42 cm), a poetic tribute to the master of contemporary art, or the fascinating "Snake Hole" in plexiglass (40 cm) created in 2024. The Metallic Blue Murano Glass Bonbon (51 x 22 cm), a unique piece from 2020, is a true jewel of blown glass that captures the essence of Venetian tradition.
Monumental sculptures, such as the 84cm Transparent Black Block Candy Wrapping (2025), stand alongside more intimate 23cm creations, creating a fascinating sculptural dialogue that reflects more than a decade of creation (2014-2025).

A self-taught artist with globally recognized talent, Laurence Jenkell has exhibited in more than 50 countries and participated in major international events: G20, World Expos, Venice Biennale... Her Bonbon sculptures poetically and gently question our collective memories, our childhood recollections, while offering a contemporary perspective on our society.
Since 2025, the artist has been based in Valbonne, where she opened her showroom-studio, finding endless inspiration in the Mediterranean. And Calvi, with its exceptional light and strong identity blending heritage and modernity, has become the natural extension of her artistic world.
