Graulhet, Leather in Your Skin

For two days, exceptionally open the doors of the leather industry businesses in Graulhet and discover their expertise right in the heart of the production sites. Tannery, leather goods, material transformation, machinery and tools, chemistry, printing… about a dozen companies welcome the public in small groups to share their trades, their skills, and their worlds.

For this anniversary edition, the Maison des Métiers du Cuir further enriches the experience around a common theme: "Create, Repair, Make Last!"

Creative workshops using leather scraps, jewelry making, shoemaking demonstrations and workshops, live sneaker customization, Cuir Genius quiz… throughout the two days, leather is discovered through doing, observing, and exchanging with professionals.

The Maison des Métiers du Cuir also hosts two free-access exhibitions: "The Art of Meeting #6 – Animate Animal," in collaboration with the Centre d’art Le Lait, and "Corps de métiers" by Jef Nicot Marcon, as well as leather exhibition panels classified as Historical Monuments and a special Micro-Folie selection around leather and fashion.

On Wednesday, October 21, from 6 PM to 9 PM, the Maison des Métiers du Cuir extends the celebration with an anniversary afterwork: shoemaking, creations, sneaker customization, demonstrations, and a friendly atmosphere.

A rare event to step behind the scenes of an iconic industry in Graulhet, meet those who make it thrive, and discover leather in all its forms.
