The Art of Encounter #6 - Animating Animal

Marion Pinaffo and Raphaël Pluvinage have imagined strange huts that come to life with mechanisms activated by visitors. Leather fringes, belts, moving laces, etc. create fascinating and colorful shapes.
The artists draw inspiration from the uses of leather throughout time: from shadow puppets in Asia to the skin-covered tipis assembled by the peoples of North America, including their fringed adornments, to the motion transmission belts still used today.
Their works explore and reveal the possibilities of objects and materials, offering experiences at the intersection of art, science, and design.

Invited as residents by the leather sector of Graulhet by the City of Graulhet and the art center Le Lait, Pinaffo & Pluvinage have been working with member companies of Graulhet Le Cuir since October 2025, with the support of the "Art and Worlds of Work" program from the Ministry of Culture.
