The program includes: a powerful performance followed by a discussion to understand and take action against online violence.
7:00 PM - 8:15 PM | Performance "Backwards Tales" by Typhaine D
Feminist author and actress Typhaine D reinterprets the tales of our childhood to deconstruct gender stereotypes and mechanisms of domination. A powerful, committed, and liberating show!
Familiar characters from our childhood (Snow White, Cinderella, the "Big Red Riding Hood", Scheherazade, etc.) come to tell their own stories in the Universal Feminine, a language where the masculine no longer prevails! Navigating through various emotions, styles, and registers of language (from slam to poetry, from humorous stand-up to song), they rewrite their narratives, question the common imaginations we hold that impact our daily lives, and, of course, raise concrete questions regarding gender equality, girls-boys dynamics, and the fight against sexist and sexual violence. These heroines, finally empowering and valued, resemble the women of today, offering paths to emancipation and care, self-esteem and sisterhood, tools for understanding the mechanisms of violence and oppression, while encouraging everyone to engage for more justice and equality.
8:20 PM - 9:15 PM | Conference & Discussion: Protecting Yourself and Upholding Your Rights
A victim of cyberharassment due to her engaged speeches, Typhaine D has waged an exemplary legal battle that led to the conviction of her harassers. Drawing on her personal experience and the framework of French law, this interactive conference-debate will provide you with concrete keys to:
-
Define and identify sexist and sexual cyberharassment.
-
Protect yourself on social media and the internet.
-
Know your legal recourse to hold perpetrators accountable.
