The Fires of Candlemas - 8 PM

Directed by: Serge Korber (France - 1972)
Starring: Annie Girardot, Jean Rochefort, Claude Jade, Bernard Fresson, Bernard Lecoq, Jean Bouise.

Alexandre Boursault, a provincial notary, would have been the happiest man if his wife Marie-Louise didn't openly display her political views and participate in all sorts of demonstrations.
For some time now, Marie-Louise has only dreamed of promoting the proletariat and the triumph of socialism. This is too much for a man whose profession is to defend an order established by the bourgeoisie. When this order is disrupted by his wife, when his files get lost among the leaflets calling for a general strike, he has no choice but to choose between his wife and his clientele. On February 2, Candlemas Day, Alexandre leaves Marie-Louise...
A story of crazy love, endearing and moving.
