Science Festival - Awaken Your Taste Buds

The Écolothèque opens its doors for you to test your taste buds. Molecular cuisine, edible wild plants, and optical illusions.

Schedule of the day:
10 AM - 12 PM and 2 PM - 4 PM:

• Gourmet Cooking (cooking workshop) - Come discover spherification, a technique that creates spheres with a gelled outer layer while the center remains liquid. The idea? To surprise with an explosion of flavors in your mouth and the gelling that allows a liquid to be gelled with varying strength using plant or animal-based gelatin.

• Edible and/or Medicinal Wild Plants - Asparagus, mallows… Come explore the wild and edible plants and flowers of the area.

• Reaction Between Two Culinary Products (cooking workshop) - Discover emulsification, which involves mixing two immiscible products like oil and water using a natural emulsifier such as soy lecithin or xanthan gum, aiming to achieve an airy texture similar to bath foam.

• Deceive Your Senses - Discover plants with unique smells and tastes.
