About
Add anto.info to your preferred sourcesThe association Les Lapins Festifs, in partnership with the Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole library network, is organizing the Science Festival in Clapiers on Saturday, October 10th, from 2 PM to 6 PM.
Activities, workshops, conferences, and readings will take place on the esplanade and inside the Albert Camus library in Clapiers. Scientists, citizens, and associations have come together to create this program. The afternoon is designed for families to come and meet them and learn a lot of things together. There will be numerous presentations throughout the afternoon, ensuring that everyone, young and old, will find something of interest.
Living Soils and Biodiversity. Exhibitions will explore the richness of soils, including one in augmented reality. Other stands will discuss urban biodiversity, featuring birds, frogs, and otters, or explain how to study blue tits.
From the Laboratory to the General Public. An exhibition that blends art and science around the marine world, an installation on the fruit fly, fish capable of repairing their own bodies, game-workshops on computing and artificial intelligence, and a role-playing game that explains how clinical research is conducted.
What We Eat, What We Drink. Where do our foods come from? A workshop will introduce spices and herbs, a baker will explain sourdough and microorganisms, and stands will be dedicated to water and rain-making. A paleoclimatologist will discuss past climates, and an engineer will explain how to protect ourselves from the extremes of the present climate.
Readings and Stories. Readings and stories will be offered around a selection of scientific books for children.
The program is rich and varied, with much still to discover…
A refreshment stand and light snacks will be available on-site.
The event is free entry and open to all.
