The Great Flea Market

We gathered to exchange, negotiate, feast, dance, and share the thousand little stories of summer. It was a true time of
reunion for the entire town.

After several decades of interruption, the Municipality of Cordes-sur-Ciel wished to revive this tradition starting in 2020, with a simple ambition: to offer the residents, merchants, and visitors a great moment of conviviality at the end of the tourist season. Over the years, the Saint-Michel has evolved: house sales and workshop sales in the streets, activities, music, shared meals, involvement from merchants and associations like SAVC, and of course the now indispensable "Michel d’Or"!

Since 2025, La Guilde has joined the fun by organizing a flea market for this event. In 2026, in close collaboration with the Town Hall of Cordes-sur-Ciel, we are committed to preserving the original spirit of Saint-Michel while bringing it even more to life: bringing together neighborhoods, encouraging residents, merchants, artisans, and associations to work together, taking over the streets and squares, and above all… creating a great moment where everyone comes together!

Because a celebration like Saint-Michel is not just an event on a calendar. It’s a bit like the "family reunion" of Cordes: you find the regulars, newcomers, those from up high, those from down low, merchants, residents, visitors… and sometimes even a few Michels!
