Saint Michael's Festival

A tradition deeply rooted in the history of Cordes-sur-Ciel, Saint Michael once marked the end of the agricultural season: it was a time to gather, exchange, negotiate, feast, dance, and share the thousand little stories of summer. It was a true reunion time for the whole town.

After several decades of interruption, the Municipality of Cordes-sur-Ciel wished to revive this tradition starting in 2020, with a simple ambition: to offer the residents, merchants, and visitors a great moment of conviviality at the end of the tourist season. Over the editions, Saint Michael's has grown richer: house and workshop sales in the streets, entertainment, music, shared meals, involvement from merchants and associations like SAVC, and of course the now indispensable "Michel d'Or"!

Since 2025, LA GUILDE has joined the dance. In 2026, in close collaboration with the Town Hall of Cordes-sur-Ciel, LA GUILDE is now taking an even more active role in organizing and animating this beautiful festival. "Our ambition is to preserve the original spirit of Saint Michael while giving it even more life: bringing together neighborhoods, making residents, merchants, artisans, and associations work together, taking over the streets and squares, and above all... creating a great moment where everyone comes together!"

Because a festival like Saint Michael is not just an event on a calendar. It’s a bit like the "family reunion" of Cordes: you find the regulars, the newcomers, those from up high, those from down low, the merchants, the residents, the visitors... and sometimes even a few Michaels!
