CULTURAL SEASON OF BARP

Originally from New Caledonia, Jason Mist is a singer-songwriter and slide guitar player. In his quest to modernize so-called "roots" music, he offers a clever blend of Folk, Blues, Rock, Reggae, sprinkled with Indian music and sounds from his native island. The result is a unique and original sound that transcends styles and reflects his open-mindedness towards the world.

His instrument of choice is the Hawaiian slide guitar, which originated in Hawaii in the 1920s. It produces a fluid sound with almost mystical resonances. Keen to preserve this tradition while also evolving it, Jason explores the limits of this instrument through his hybrid compositions, carried by his enchanting voice.
