GREAT VOICES OF AFRICA

Since 2022, the International Competition of Great Opera Voices of Africa has been revealing and supporting young lyrical singers from the African continent and its diaspora. A career springboard as well as a manifesto for diversity, it has already brought forth voices that major stages are beginning to covet.

The Opéra Orchestre national Montpellier invites you to come discover and applaud, under the direction of conductor Sebastián Almánzar, two talents we have yet to hear the last of: Laurynn Favières, a 26-year-old Guadeloupean soprano, winner of the 2026 award, recognized last March in Paris by a jury chaired by Philippe Jaroussky, and tenor Vanhels Djoko, awarded in 2025.
