European Heritage Days - Visit to the Saint-Michel Abbey

Since 2024, the Saint-Michel Abbey has been undergoing significant interior restoration, with completion expected in 2030. In the meantime, these construction site visits offer a unique opportunity to discover the already restored areas.

Accompanied on-site, you will be able to observe the work done on the decorations and architectural elements of the abbey. The murals are gradually revealing their original colors and brilliance, while the sculpted capitals are regaining the whiteness of their stone.

This visit allows for a better understanding of the various stages of a restoration project and offers a chance to see the building from an unusual angle, close to the ongoing interventions.
