Exhibition: The History of the Saint-Michel Abbey Church, from Its Foundation to Its Restorations

On the occasion of the interior restoration of the Saint-Michel Abbey Church, the label Ville d’art et d’histoire invites you to take a fresh look at this iconic monument of Gaillac.

As you tour, travel back in time to the origins of the former Benedictine abbey and discover how the abbey church has evolved over the centuries. Transformations, reconstructions, and successive restorations have gradually shaped the building we know today.

This exploration will also provide a better understanding of the challenges related to its preservation and the work currently being done to restore its interior spaces.
