The Unexpected Escapes from CNRS immerse you in the heart of past mysteries to shed light on tomorrow's challenges. Embark on a journey through time to understand our future. Paleontology, through the study of fossils and ancient climates, tells us fascinating stories. How did the extinction of dinosaurs transform life on Earth? How have species adapted to climate upheavals? What do these transformations teach us about current global changes? By studying these adaptation models, scientists decode the mechanisms of biodiversity and the evolution of life to anticipate future trends!

Discover the research conducted by scientific teams in the Occitanie region, meet the unique fossils from the paleontological collection of the University of Montpellier, and untangle fiction from science by examining Jurassic Park models made of LEGO® bricks staged by Bricks4Kidz.

This exhibition was designed by CNRS, with the support of scientists from the Institute of Evolutionary Sciences Montpellier (ISEM), the Botany and Plant Architecture Modeling Unit (AMAP), and the Centre for Functional and Evolutionary Ecology (CEFE), in partnership with the Hérault Department and the University of Montpellier.

Two days of "Unexpected Escapes" organized at Pierresvives by CNRS for schools and the general public on October 16 and 17: participate in demonstrative conferences, micro-conferences, educational and fun workshops, documentary screenings...

Activities during the autumn school holidays: games, creative workshops, and film screenings (Disney's Dinosaurs, Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park).
