Why Mathematics?

Around tables presenting thematic mathematical games, puzzles, and experiments, the public is invited to question the underlying mathematics, their usefulness, necessity, and significance.
The workshops are led by mathematics researchers from IMAG (Institut Montpelliérain Alexander Grothendieck) of the DEM (Department of Mathematics) and IRES (Institut de Recherche pour l'Enseignement des Sciences).
This highly interactive exhibition aims to show visitors that mathematics is interesting, surprising, and useful, accessible to everyone, very present in daily life, leading to numerous careers, and playing a crucial role in culture, development, and progress.
