Nanomaterials in the Service of Health

Montpellier

About

At the Charles Gerhardt Institute in Montpellier (University of Montpellier, CNRS, ENSCM), several research groups are working on the development of new (nano)materials, ranging from biodegradable polymers to luminescent nanoparticles, as diagnostic or therapeutic tools to tackle major health challenges, particularly in the fight against cancer. During this workshop, we invite both young and old to discover how nanoparticles can help treat diseases. Through a hands-on activity, participants will explore how matter is sculpted at the nanoscale to perform specific tasks in response to the needs of living organisms. We will particularly focus on scintillator materials, their optical properties, and their medical applications, illustrating how these nanomaterials are becoming essential allies for research and health.
