OKILÉLÉ
About
Michaël Dusautoy | Collectif Quatre Ailes | based on the album by Claude Ponti
"Let’s celebrate the strength of imagination and the power to invent one’s life!"
On the day of his birth, Okilélé is greeted with a cruel cry: "Oh, how ugly he is!" Convinced that this is his name, he grows up on the margins, rejected for his differences, until he is locked away under the family sink.
Drawing from his limitless imagination and curiosity, he escapes and embarks on an initiatory journey filled with strange and benevolent creatures. Object theater, puppetry, video, projected images, and acting intertwine in an inventive staging inspired by the rich universe of Claude Ponti.
Gently addressing essential themes such as everyone’s ability to reinvent themselves, Okilélé offers a bright anthem to the freedom of being oneself.
For young audiences aged 4 and up.
