Exhibition "Siné, Always There"
About
Add anto.info to your preferred sourcesTen years after his passing, Siné remains a major figure in French press drawing, whose humor, freedom of tone, and commitment continue to resonate.
The media library of Rabastens is dedicating a tribute exhibition to him, organized as part of FIFIGROT 2026 (International Festival of Grolandese Film), with the collaboration of Catherine Sinet and the support of the International Center for Caricature, Press Drawing, and Humor in Saint-Just-le-Martel.
For over sixty years, from L’Express to Siné Mensuel, including Hara-Kiri, Charlie Hebdo, and his own newspapers, Siné defended a free, irreverent, and deeply committed drawing style. An anti-colonialist, a participant in May 68, and a declared opponent of power, he wielded his pencil as a satirical weapon.
The exhibition explores the many facets of his work: cats, jazz, movie posters, graphic creations, political caricatures, and drawings about wine, particularly highlighting their place in the heart of the Gaillac vineyard.
The exhibition also takes place at other festival partner sites:
-
Galerie L’Embarcadère, from September 12 to November 1 – 19, rue Saint-Louis in Lisle-sur-Tarn
-
Two other segments will be presented in Toulouse, only during FIFIGROT, from September 14 to 20:
Admission: Free.
