Two concerts, ten musicians, and an iconic square in Barcelona: on Sunday, September 20th, jazz takes to the outdoors in the heart of Gràcia.
Starting at 6 PM, the Anggie Obin Quintet kicks off the evening with a lineup where Anggie Obin's flute converses with Gorka Benitez's tenor saxophone, accompanied by Diego Hervalejo on piano, Horacio Fumero on double bass, and David Xirgu on drums.
Then at 7 PM, a very special event: Avui ha vingut en John: Centenary of John Coltrane. Five musicians come together to celebrate the centenary of one of jazz's major figures, featuring Carles Pineda and Ramon Cardo on saxophones, Joel González on piano, Xavi Castillo on double bass, and Pau Bombardó on drums.
All of this is experienced for free and outdoors at Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia, in the spirit of L'Hora del Jazz: bringing jazz out of the clubs and creating a direct encounter between musicians, locals, and visitors.
A wonderful excuse to spend your Sunday afternoon in Gràcia… and discover the vitality of the Catalan jazz scene.
