TRADITIONAL CHINESE CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOPS – REGULAR STYLE

An in-depth course dedicated to the regular style (Kaishu), one of the fundamental styles of traditional Chinese calligraphy. Through the study of character structure, mastery of the brush, and the balance between strokes and spaces, you will discover the essential principles of Kaishu and develop a more harmonious, precise, and balanced writing.

You will learn to:

• Understand the structure of Chinese characters and their construction rules.

• Read and analyze the architecture of each character: proportions, axes, and balance.

• Study the balance of Yin and Yang in strokes and composition.

• Master the management of space, void, and fullness in calligraphy.

• Develop brush movement, rhythm, and the breath of the stroke.

• Understand the aesthetic principles of the regular style to achieve harmonious and balanced writing.

This course is aimed at individuals wishing to acquire solid foundations or deepen their practice of traditional Chinese calligraphy while respecting classical principles.

Classes are open to everyone aged 15 and above.

Fee: €120 / 5 sessions (10 hours total) – or €30 per 2-hour session, by prior reservation.
