EXHIBITION AT THE CASTLE: CAP FAUVE – AUDE JONQUÈRES D’ORIOLA

The Department welcomes Aude Jonquères d’Oriola to the royal Château de Collioure for the exhibition "Cap Fauve", from September 4 to October 22, 2026. Open every day from 10 AM to 5 PM.

An artist trained at the Beaux-Arts in Perpignan and then at the Arts Déco, she has been fully dedicated to creation since the 2000s. Her painting, inheriting from an academic background, seeks to purify the subject to reveal its substance and sensations.

After years focused on the human figure, she now explores compositions blending figurative elements and swathes of color, using mixed techniques (acrylic, tissue paper, oil pastels). Color dominates, guiding a soft and natural abstraction.

Collioure holds a foundational place in her inspiration: discovered as a child, then experienced as a "fauvist" place where light, vineyards, and the sea shape her perspective. Having returned to live there two years ago, she draws from the Côte Vermeille, its vegetation and contrasts, a continuous source of pictorial emotions.
