In the spring of 1971, the manifesto of the 343 reveals that one million women have abortions every year in France under dangerous conditions due to secrecy, even though this procedure is simple when performed under medical supervision, a topic largely kept in silence.

In the summer of 1971, 16-year-old Marie-Claire becomes pregnant and decides not to keep the child; her mother Michèle, along with Lucette, Renée, and Micheline, mobilize to help her. By the fall of 1972, these women are charged, and the trial, known as the Bobigny trial, is orchestrated by lawyer Gisèle Halimi.
