Red bloom: Crossed Perspectives

In her exhibition "Red bloom," presented in the Orangerie of the Jardin des Plantes, Alice Pallot focuses on the proliferation of green algae. Discover the exhibition with a "crossed perspectives" visit, by artist Alice Pallot and Béatrice Bec.
Through photography, Alice Pallot questions the consequences of human activities on the environment. By immersing her photographic prints in baths of algae, the artist reveals an invisible toxicity through the very alteration of the images. She thus creates an immersive experience at the heart of a polluted natural world and paints a striking portrait of the sick beauty of our damaged environment.
Béatrice Bec is a lecturer at Polytech Montpellier within the Department of Water Sciences and Technologies (STE) and the UMR MARBEC. She teaches biology and plant ecology (Microalgae, Macrophytes, Riparian Forest) in continental aquatic ecosystems.
