MUSIC AND ORGAN FESTIVAL: RECITAL BY JAVIER ARTIGAS PINA

The Jean-Pierre Cavaillé association presents its 51st edition of the Music and Organ Festival: a series of concerts featuring seasoned musicians and a varied repertoire within the Saint-Julien and Sainte-Baselisse church.

At the dawn of the modern organ: Correa and his time. Between the very restrained musical expression of the Renaissance and the exuberance of the Baroque period, this program offers a chance to discover the great Sevillian composer Francisco Correa de Arauxo (1583-1654) and his European contemporaries: Titelouze, Frescobaldi, Coelho. Tientos, capricci, toccatas, sacred hymns, and glosas will provide a varied picture of the evolution of organ music during the 17th century.
