DANIELLE KLECZEWSKI-BÉZAT
Born in Paris, the artist studied at the École supérieure de dessin. Surrounded by artists, she frequented the Place du Tertre and the Place des Vosges. In the cellars of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, she met Sidney Bechet, the legendary jazz clarinetist. She left Paris and settled permanently "in a beautiful place, near the Garbet." In awe of the talent of great jazz musicians, she began to paint about jazz, feeling in this music "the voice of a people who suffer and who touch it."
