About
Add anto.info to your preferred sourcesOn the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the Cayla Castle-Museum opens its doors throughout the weekend to offer you a different perspective on its collections, heritage, and the work being done to preserve this site.
— Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20, from 2 PM to 6 PM: Continuous Micro-Tours
Throughout the weekend, enjoy short tours to (re)discover the Castle-Museum, its history, and its collections. These appointments will also provide an opportunity to go behind the scenes of heritage conservation with presentations of recent restoration operations carried out on the site.
— Sunday, September 20 at 3 PM: Presentation of Recent Restorations
Restorer Jeanne Vidal from the Atelier du Rouge-Gorge will present her work on the Centaur. Restored between August and September 2026, the piece underwent several operations: consolidation of certain parts, surface treatment, and meticulous cleaning of details.
The presentation will be complemented by a meeting with Sylvie Dauzats, who will discuss the restoration work carried out in the great hall and the small room of the castle.
A wonderful opportunity to discover the Cayla Castle-Museum, but also to better understand the work done to preserve its artworks and decorations.
