On the occasion of the Month of Architecture in Occitanie and the National Days of Architecture, the MAOM invites you to discover "Meridionality?", a major exhibition of AJAP and other paths of Architecture in Occitanie at Halle Tropisme.

By bringing together, across all generations, all the winners of the Albums of Young Architects and Landscape Architects (AJAP) rooted in Occitanie, this event maps out a temporal continuity. This invisible yet tenacious link: that of a demanding quest for architectural quality, nationally recognized by the ministry, which transcends time, reinventing itself with each generation.
It raises the question of whether there is also a spatial mapping, a unity of place, defined by Occitanie. Starting from the theme of Meridionality means rejecting the simple Mediterranean decorum to question the place in its fundamental truth, a stance towards the territory — a way to engage with the bright light, the wind, the shadow, the climate, the soil, and the materials that make up our landscapes.

From the Pyrenean foothills to the lagoon coasts, from the great causses to the Languedoc plains, the works presented show how each generation of architects and landscape architects has been able to listen to the long duration of the Occitan landscape.
