Mauritius. A love story unfolds between Pierre, a hotel employee, and Louise, a French tourist. He shows her another side of his country: wild beaches, nightlife, popular streets… Each in their own way dreams of elsewhere and emancipation. But Louise's departure is approaching, and Pierre tenses at the thought of staying on this island he desperately wants to leave. He will go all in to try to escape a preordained future.

It's Over is the winner of the 2026 Jean Vigo Prize! The jury president, Gérard Vaudoit, writes, "With [this film], Gustave Kervern offers a deeply human work, caught between derision and compassion. He films the margins without complacency and unfolds the map of ordinary dominations in a comedy that is also an anti-colonial narrative: it points out the survivals of an inherited power dynamic and how certain stories repeat in indifference. At the same time, 'It's Over' paints a portrait of a society where money, status, and origin draw invisible yet sharp fault lines between battered characters, struggling to find balance. Beneath the lightness, the film reveals what we keep silent about — our failures, our small cowardices, our awkward impulses. We loved its simultaneously ironic and heartfelt proximity."
