Exhibition: "Claude Monet, the Beating Heart of Impressionists"

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Claude Monet's passing, the Hôtel de Lagoy in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is hosting the preview of the exhibition "Claude Monet, the Beating Heart of Impressionists," conceived by writer and exhibition curator David Lawrence.

Set in this 17th-century mansion, the exhibition offers a chance to explore Claude Monet's artistic and personal journey through around a hundred commented photographs, two original pastels by the painter, an engraving by Dr. Gachet signed by Vincent van Gogh, as well as a selection of Japanese prints created by the great masters of the time. These works notably highlight the influence of Japanese art on the Impressionists and the birth of this artistic movement.

The visit is guided by the narrative of Gabriel, a young character imagined by David Lawrence who supposedly met Claude Monet at the famous photographer Nadar's studio in 1874. Through his perspective, visitors follow Monet's journey and discover the story of the one who was nicknamed "the beating heart of Impressionists."

The exhibition also offers a tailored experience for French-speaking middle and high school students, accompanied by an educational dossier to prepare for the visit.

Prices: Adult: €15 (Senior rate +65 years €12), Student: €10, Group rate for adults: €12 (/ person for groups of 10 or more).

Free for those under 14, the press, and individuals with reduced mobility.
