Guided Tour | Presentation of the Bréguet XIV, the Legendary Aircraft of Aéropostale Pioneers

The unique replica of this witness to our aeronautical past will be presented to you, both on the ground and in flight, by two enthusiasts eager to share this beautiful and grand story.

A reconnaissance aircraft and bomber during the Great War, the Breguet XIV is also famous for its participation in the epic of the first airline responsible for postal service. Illustrious aviators, now considered the pioneers of Aéropostale, piloted it: Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Didier Daurat, Jean Mermoz, Henri Guillaumet, and many others.

A small technological gem ahead of its time, it was manufactured in over 8,000 copies during and after World War I, then exported to 23 countries. Today, only two original Breguet XIVs remain, preserved in two museums.

To ensure that the memory of this first biplane, designed in 1917 in France by the Breguet company, does not fade away, a replica was built between 1992 and 2003 by enthusiasts. It remains at the Gandalou airfield and, to everyone's delight, it flies!
