HERITAGE DAYS SATURDAY

Collioure welcomes you on September 19 and 20 for the European Heritage Days. Two days to explore the history, art, and traditions of the village through exceptional openings, guided tours, walks, workshops, and activities accessible for free or at a reduced price.

Saturday, September 19:

►Word Path, 10 AM, Espace Machado (2, rue Antonio Machado), 2 hours
Outdoor writing workshop on the theme of ruins, led by Blandine Margoux. Bring your materials (sturdy support, pen, marker or pencil, notebook...).

►Machado Circuit, 10 AM, departure from the train station, 1 hour 15 minutes
Tour of the last days of Antonio Machado, followed by the film La retirada à Collioure, 1939. Limited to 25 people.

►Bell Tower Visit, 10 AM–12 PM / 2 PM–5 PM, church square
Discover the bell tower with your feet in the water. Groups of 7 people every 30 minutes, limited to 60 people.

►Guided Tours Discovering Collioure, 10:30 AM, departure from the Fauvism Showcase, Place du 18 juin
10:30 AM: Unusual Collioure: details, anecdotes, hidden treasures.

►All day: Photo Rally, departure from the Fauvism Showcase, Place du 18 juin
Explore the city as a team in search of new viewpoints. A fun way to glimpse the evolution of Collioure from yesterday to today.

►Visit to the Cortina Mill, 10 AM–5 PM, 30 minutes
First Catalan windmill, now producing olive oil. No reservation required.

►Fort Dugommier, 10 AM–12:30 PM / 2 PM–6 PM
Free visit of the monument under rehabilitation and discovery of stone cutting (on foot via the forts walk, or by car via Port-Vendres).

►Royal Castle, 10 AM–10 PM, Quai de l'Amirauté
Built in the early Middle Ages to protect the village of Collioure and its natural harbor, the castle first housed its feudal lords before the Catalan kings made it a stop on their journeys.
-> From 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM: Free visit of the medieval castle and its history. Free entry (last departure 4:30 PM)
-> From 10:30 AM: Thematic guided tours (last departure at 4:30 PM)
-> From 10:30 AM-12:30 PM and 2 PM-5 PM in the lower hall: Photo-collage workshop "Royal Image" by Julie Albarel / Lower Hall
Reimagine Collioure in a collective work: participatory creation of a panoramic image of the site. Open to all.
-> During the day: Mediation space "Photography Heritage: Welcome to the club!" in the guard room

Stroll in the bay with Rigo Rigo and Ufana. Departures every 15 minutes. Depending on the weather.

►Anchovy Salting Workshops, 20 minutes
Maison Roque (only on Saturday): 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM / 2:30 PM to 4 PM - Carrefour du Christ
Maison Desclaux (all weekend): 9 AM to 12:30 PM / 2 PM to 7 PM - Route d'Argelès
Discover traditional workshops and salting demonstrations. No reservation required.

►Visit to Fort Miradou, from 2 PM to 3 PM, 42, rue de la Caranque (reservation required): FULL
Discover during these 2 days a place usually closed to the public to immerse yourself in the military heritage of Collioure through a guided visit of this place, with many interesting anecdotes it can tell you.

Visitors will be welcomed exclusively as part of a guided tour under the auspices of the town hall and the tourist office of Collioure. For this, the areas of Collioure (Fort Miradou) and Mont Louis (military citadel) will be accessible to visitors.
It is a military barracks housing the CNEC. Since 1964, soldiers have trained there in various exercises.
When booking, you will be asked for the name, first name of all participants and a phone number.

To be prepared on the day of the visit (mandatory):

  Visitor entry: in front of the entrance of the fort (42 Rue de la Caranque, 66190 Collioure).

►Stone Cutting Introduction, 2:30 PM, Fort Dugommier: FULL
Workshop for children, accompanied by their parents. Limited to 12 participants, adults and children combined (recommended age from 6 years, (on foot via the forts walk, or by car via Port-Vendres)).

►Sardana Dance, 3 PM, Place du 18 Juin
Traditional Catalan dance by the Cobla Mil.lenària.

►Conference: Thinking about the new museum pathway, 5 PM, Cultural Center, 13 Jules Michelet
Reflection on the future pathway of the Museum of Modern Art, with Claire Muchir.
