MÉRIC, INSPIRATION SPOT OF FRÉDÉRIC BAZILLE IN THE HEART OF MONTPELLIER
About
Visit in French
A popular walking spot today, the Méric estate was once the country home of Frédéric Bazille's family.
The story of a place, the story of a man, it is in this haven of peace and inspiration that the painter honed his talent at the end of the 19th century. This place was one of the milestones in the revolution towards a more vibrant outdoor painting. A movement that would be called "impressionism" four years after Bazille's death.
Discover exclusively the view of Castelnau-le-Lez from the terrace of the Mas.
Meet 10 minutes before departure in front of the main entrance of the garden, 530 rue de Ferran Montpellier. Aiguelongue district, tram line 2 stop "Saint-Lazare".
