THE LIVING BOOK ON TOUR
About
Free performances for young audiences
in 17 municipalities!
The Living Book kicks off its tour in the Pyrénées-Orientales!
After the Living Book Festival on June 28 in Parc Palauda in Thuir, it is now going "on tour" across the region.
From September to December, the showcased creations invite you to the libraries of 17 municipalities, always for free.
Theater, music, dance, storytelling: here, books open up and come to life, in French and Catalan, to engage with all audiences.
Through their network of libraries, the Department and the Claude Simon Departmental Library provide cultural access to everyone, at the intersection of books, imagination, and artistic creation.
Enjoy wonderful moments during these live performances!
The 2026 tour of the Living Book on tour includes:
• completely free performances
• for families, from the youngest age
• programmed by the Departmental Library
• and hosted by libraries near you
Each performance has been specially created by a local company, at the request of the Department, based on the youth works of the Living Book Prize.
This Prize is organized every year in the Pyrénées-Orientales: children from schools and colleges read a selection of works, then vote for their favorite by age group. The artists from the department then bring them to life in June during the Living Book Festival, and again in the fall throughout the region.
