About

The Collegiate Church of Saint-Barnard, a medieval gem open daily from 9 AM to 7 PM for self-guided visits.
Overlooking the banks of the Isère and nestled in the historic center of Romans, the Collegiate Church of Saint-Barnard, classified as a Historic Monument since 1840, is a must-see of Roman heritage. Founded in 838 by Archbishop Barnard of Vienne, the current building developed from the 12th to the 18th century. It majestically combines Romanesque and Gothic architecture. Standing 38 meters high and 66 meters long, the collegiate impresses both with its size and the richness of its decorations: nave, organ, chapels, stained glass, and wall paintings in the choir dating from the 14th century, masterpieces of medieval art.

The Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament and the Great Sacristy: exceptional self-guided visits on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday from 10 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM.
Discover the wonders preserved in the heart of the collegiate.
