Sunday, November 1st at 5 PM, Novelty Hall.
Alain Marinaro left us twenty-five years ago, but his memory remains strong, well beyond his family, among the many who knew and appreciated him, in our Department certainly, and in Paris among the professors of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique and his study friends. Pianist Romain Hervé is one of them, filled with sensitivity and humor. The Friends of Alain Marinaro will present him on November 1, 2026, at 4:30 PM at the Novelty Hall in Banyuls sur Mer.
Coming from the poetic school of French piano, trained by the disciples of Alfred Cortot (Pierre Froment) and Samson François (Bruno Rigutto), Romain Hervé studied piano, chamber music, analysis, harmony, harmonization, generative improvisation at the CNSM in Paris... Named Discovery Artist by Classica magazine in 2003, he won the first prize at the Radio France competition. He has been invited to perform on the most beautiful French and international stages (Germany, Belgium, Korea, Spain, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Singapore, Switzerland…) and his recordings dedicated to Liszt, Schumann, Chopin, and Debussy have been warmly praised by critics: Coup de cœur-RTL, R10 from Classica magazine, "Coup de cœur of the year" from Pianiste magazine, 5 Diapasons and 4 stars from Le Monde de la Musique in which Michel Le Naour certifies: "For elegance, modesty, and grace, Romain Hervé shows that French piano still has bright days ahead." We will hear him perform works by Chopin and Liszt, as well as musical theater pieces by Christian Schittenhelm, a French composer to whom he dedicated his latest CD.
