ON THE SKIN

This summer, MO.CO. Panacée is organizing a group exhibition exploring monstrous and mutant forms in contemporary art. Approachable from the abject, the monstrous disrupts identity, systems, and the established order, showing no respect for boundaries, positions, or norms.

In an immersive and labyrinthine scenography, On the Skin plays with the unconscious of our fears and desires. The exhibition is a new opportunity for MO.CO. to affirm its support for artists by producing new works, particularly those of recently graduated Montpellier artists from MO.CO. Esba, Nuria Mokhtar and Arthur Monteillet, or in the case of Dorota Gawęda and Eglė Kulbokaitė, to imagine ambitious adaptations of existing works. Some artists will be presented for the first time in an institution in France, including Sue Coe, Keunmin Lee, Dorota Gawęda and Eglė Kulbokaitė, Brilant Milazimi, Sibylle Ruppert, and Michelle Uckotter.

The exhibition is supported by Fluxus Art Projects and Pro Helvetia, Swiss Foundation for Culture.
