FILM - CONCERT TUQUS

An immersive audiovisual performance, TUQUS ("ritual" in Arabic) explores musical and gestural traditions related to trance and the gathering of peoples from the Mediterranean basin, questioning what connects them through history and the territories they traverse.

This hybrid show combines electronic music and documentary creation.

From Greece to Palestine, from Egypt to Morocco, from Italy to Tunisia, the forms differ but the gesture remains the same everywhere: music and its repetition carry bodies towards dance and open a moment of sharing where trance sometimes surfaces, tightening the bonds between the living.

This project continues Khalil Epi's work around popular and ritual music, initiated with AÏCHOUCHA.

With TUQUS, the research expands, geographically and symbolically, to offer a strong and deeply embodied stage experience, where the concert itself becomes a shared ritual.
