São Paulo, 1980s… Noboru must prepare a school presentation about his Japanese origins, which he has always tried to erase. He must then turn to his grumpy grandfather, Hideo, to learn more about his family and the story of Hideo's arrival in Brazil in 1920, when he was still a young man. Having always wanted to avoid discussing his past and uprooting, pushed by his lovely grandmother, Hideo reluctantly agrees to tell Noboru his story and how he settled in South America. As Noboru delves into the tale of his ancestors' exile, the young student will enjoy embracing this culture from the other side of the world and will even discover the existence of an unknown uncle…
