Married at 13, hailing from the black ghetto of Missouri, young Joséphine arrives in France and becomes the icon of the Roaring Twenties in Paris. She joins the Resistance and symbolizes the great universal woman recently celebrated at the Panthéon...
Josephine Baker the musical invites us to rediscover the dazzling artist with extraordinary talents as a dancer and singer, a precursor of hip-hop. This show also reveals the romantic life of this free and committed woman. We will meet her partners, lovers, husbands, and heroes, like her, who did not hesitate to risk their lives to save Jews and thwart the Nazis' plans. She fought throughout her life against racial segregation by joining Martin Luther King Jr. and adopting 12 children of all backgrounds to create her rainbow tribe.
